YELLOWOOD / Pouteri a pachycarpa 

General Characteristics: Heartwood and sapwood is light yellow. Grain straight; average to fine texture; accasional longitudinal yellowish brown streaks from growth rings.,
Durability: has low resistance to attack by fungus and termites and not rated as naturally durable.
Working Properties: Easy to saw and machine, and peels well on a venner lathe; dresses to a smooth finish, stains and finishes well.
Uses: The wood is favored for millwork,cabinets, furniture, plywood, and flooring.
Weight: Dense wood, moderately heavy with 13% hum weighs 935 kgs/m3.



PY-PLY / Albizia hassleri
General Characteristics: Heartwood and sapwod is yellowish white, distinct. Grain straight,texture coarse, lustrous, without characteristic odor or taste.
Durability: The timber is reported to be resistant to attack by decay and fungi and termites. Wood is tought and durable.
Working Properties: Easy to saw and machine, and peels well on a veneer lathe; dresses to a smooth finish and takes a good polish.
Uses: The wood is favored for millwork, cabinets, furniture, plywood, and flooring.
Weight: Dense wood, moderately heavy with 13% hum weighs 980 kgs/m3. Basic S.G. 0.47 (oven dry)


KUPAY / Copaifera spp.

General Characteristics: Heartwood reddish brown, sapwood pinkish gray to nearly white. Luster rather silky and golden. Grain straight; mediun texture.
Durability: Average durability. Reported vulnerable to attack by decay fungi, insects, and termites.
Working Properties: Easy to saw and machine, and peels well on a veneer lathe; dresses to a smooth finish and takes a good polish.
Uses: The wood is favored for millwork, interior trim, furniture, plywood, general construction, turnery.
Weight: Dense wood, moderately heavy with 15% hum weighs 690 kgs/m3. Basic S.G. 0.56 (oven dry)
LAMIGRANDIS / Eucalyptus grandis
General Characteristics: Sapwood is pale pink and the heartwood is light to dark red. Straight grained and coarse textured, moderately strong.
Durability: it is moderately durable at best, but the sapwood is generally resistant to lyctus spp. borers.
Working Properties: Easy to saw and machine, and peels well on a venner lathe; dresses to a smooth finish and takes a good polish.
Uses: : The wood is favored for general construction, joinery, plywood, paneling, boat building, flooring, utility poles, posts, pulp.
Uses: : Moderately heavy with 15%
hum weighs 710 Kgs/m3. Basic S.G. 0,62 to 0,80 (oven Dry).
CEDRO (Spanish Cedar) / Cedrela fissilis Vell.
General Characteristics: Sapwood is
light reddish brown. Heartwood reddish or dark reddish brown, sometimes with a purplish tinge. Grain usually straight, sometimes
interlocked; texture rather fine and uniform; distinctive cedary odor.
Durability: heartwood rated duraable; resistant to rot and termites. Heartwood contains insect repelling resin. Excellent weathering char.
Working Properties: Perfect replacement for Mahogany. Easy to work and stains and finishes well.
Uses: The wood is favored for millwork, cabinets, fine furniture, boats, cigar boxes, instruments.
Weight: Med. Density, with 12 % hum. Weighs 500kgs-m3.
